Gönn dir
treat yourself!, go for it! (encouraging colloquial phrase; related to 'Gönnung')
Origin
From the German 'sich etwas gönnen' (to allow oneself something nice). From summer 2013 the set phrase 'Gönn dir!' spread strongly through German rap – including the song of the same name by Kontra K (2013) and artists like Kollegah, Olexesh and PA Sports – and came second in the 2014 Youth Word of the Year vote (behind 'Läuft bei dir'). Related is the 'Gönnung' (popularised by Money Boy). Used as an approving prompt meaning 'go on, treat yourself / enjoy it'.
