Concessive connector 'obgleich' (although)

What it is: obgleich is a subordinating conjunction meaning although - a formal, elevated synonym of everyday obwohl. It introduces an ineffective counter-reason: a concession.

How it is formed: Like all concessive subjunctors, it sends the finite verb to the end of its clause:
