Talahon

stereotyped (often pejorative) label for a young man flexing (fake) designer brands

Origin

Probably derives from the Arabic 'taʿāl lahōn' (تعال لهون, 'come here'). The word first appeared in 2022 in the rap song 'Ta3al Lahon' by Hassan Annouri; in 2024 it became widely known through the viral AI-generated song 'Verknallt in einen Talahon' and via TikTok. It labels (often stereotypically and partly pejoratively) young men who flaunt real or fake designer brands, a gold chain and a crossbody bag; the term is controversial and is criticized in part as a racist external label. In 2024 'Talahon' came second in the Jugendwort des Jahres vote.
