Origin

Derived from English 'to swagger' (to strut, to boast); 'Swag' denotes an enviable, effortlessly cool charisma and style (sometimes used ironically). In the German-speaking world the term spread strongly from around 2010 through the (German) rap scene. In 2011 'Swag' was voted Jugendwort des Jahres.
