sus

suspicious, sketchy, suspect

Origin

„sus“ is a short form of the English words 'suspicious' or 'suspect' and has been attested in English as an abbreviation since the early 20th century (police jargon, from the 1920s) – so it is not an invention of the „Among Us“ community. It entered German youth slang mainly through the online game „Among Us“ (2020/2021), in which suspicious-seeming players are called 'sus'. From there it spread via social media into everyday language.
