Origin
The word originally comes from the song 'Skibidi' (2018) by the Russian band Little Big, but went viral above all through the animated YouTube web series 'Skibidi Toilet' (from February 2023, by Alexey Gerasimov / DaFuq!?Boom!), which racked up billions of views. 'Skibidi' has no fixed meaning – it is a meaning-flexible filler word of 'brainrot' meme culture and can mean 'cool/awesome', 'bad/weird' or nothing at all depending on context. Especially popular as an in-joke among very young Generation Alpha users.
