Origin
Comes from rap and hip-hop culture and derives from the 'fronten', which (from American English) means 'to verbally attack, diss, insult or disrespectfully confront someone'. From this base the softening phrase 'no front' emerged, used to signal that an (often critical) statement is not meant as an attack or insult. It is usually attached before or after a delicate remark ('No front, but …') to soften criticism in a friendly way, and is today a firm part of youth slang.
