Lauch

'Lauch' literally denotes the vegetable (leek), a long, thin plant. In youth slang it is used pejoratively and mostly teasingly for a weak, scrawny, hapless or embarrassingly behaving person - the image of the limp, thin plant transfers onto the 'weakling'. The usage is marked as youth-language and derogatory; in slang it also appears in the plural form 'Lauchs'.
