Origin
A heavy, coarse and derogatory insult, literally 'son of a whore'; a compound of 'Hure' (whore), a linking -n, and 'Sohn' (son). According to Wiktionary its insulting force derives from the poor reputation of the descendants of prostitutes. In rap and youth slang the word is paradoxically also used as a drastic intensifier meaning 'amazing'. Register: vulgar.
