Anglicism from US streaming and TikTok culture, probably a slurred contraction of 'goddamn' – in slang pronunciation the 'God' sounds like 'Gyatt'. Known online since the late 2000s, it spread strongly from around 2021 via live-stream gamers (notably the streamer YourRAGE) and is now a typical Gen-Z/Gen-Alpha word on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter. Used as an exclamation of admiration – usually for a curvy, attractive body; the more 't's you add ('Gyatttt'), the greater the enthusiasm. Register: crude.
