fresh
cool, stylish, trendy (often about appearance/clothing)
Origin
From English 'fresh' ('new, unspoiled'). The positive, evaluative sense 'cool, stylish, trendy' has been common in US slang and hip-hop since the 1980s and is rooted in African-American music culture. Its mainstream breakthrough came in the 1990s above all through the series 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' with Will Smith; in German youth slang 'fresh' is mostly a compliment about looks, clothing and appearance.
