Ehrenmann
man of honor - someone who does something great for you (also used ironically)
Origin
A determinative compound of 'Ehre' (honor) and 'Mann' (man, with a linking -n): originally a man marked by an honorable disposition and on whose word one can rely. The old term was revived via the German rap scene and today describes someone who does something exemplary or helpful for you (often ironically too). In 2018 'Ehrenmann/Ehrenfrau' was voted Jugendwort des Jahres - the first time a traditional German word won.
